John has been a Saskatoon resident since 2009 and currently he is the Board Chair of Black Professionals and Entrepreneurs of Saskatchewan (BPES). He also serves as a Board Chair of Fruitful Vine Foundation, President of the Conservative Black Congress of Canada (CBCC), board member with the Evergreen Aspen Ridge and Community Association (EARCA) and a board member of the Electoral District Association (EDA) of Saskatoon West – Conservative Party of Canada.

John bagged his PhD at Stellenbosch University, South Africa in 2009, and subsequently acquired two postdoctoral fellowships in Canada (2009-2011) and Germany (2011-2012). Prior to relocating to Canada, John taught at the prestigious Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Nigeria where he conducted research for many years. John is a former visiting Professor at the Department of Environmental Sciences, Faculty of Science, North West University, South Africa, and current visiting Professor at Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Nigeria. He is a recipient of several awards and grants during his career.  In April, 2018, he was invited (as one of ten global experts) to Rome, Italy by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations to develop a Pesticide Registration Toolkit for use in developing countries.

He has been involved in research at different levels at the Department of Soil Science, University of Saskatchewan, Canada before starting multiple businesses in Saskatoon. Currently, he is the Chief Executive Officer and Principal Instructor at Distinct Driving School, an SGI certified driving school in the Saskatoon area. He is also the Chief Executive Officer and Principal Consultant at Distinct Immigration Services Inc, an immigration firm that helps people achieve their dream of Canadian immigration. In addition, he is a Partner at NobleLinks Consulting, a business support consulting firm that helps business owners with all aspects of the business from idea conception, business registration, branding, staff development and management. This firm in collaboration with the Greater Saskatoon Chamber of Commerce played a crucial role in launching the inaugural Saskatoon Black Business Expo, a cornerstone event celebrating and empowering Black entrepreneurs in the region

John is a team player and believes in community participation and social engagement in all spheres of life. He is motivated by making life better for the people in his community. He is married to his lovely wife Rachael, a registered nurse and a Saskatoon-based gospel artiste. They are blessed with three lovely boys and they are happy to call Saskatoon home.
